Certifications & Enrollment Manager
How do I fix a rejected certification?
Read the rejection reason in Enrollment Manager, fix the specific issue, and resubmit. These are the causes I see most often.
Start with the rejection reason shown in Enrollment Manager. It usually points straight at the problem. Fix that one issue, then submit a corrected certification with a short remark explaining the correction. Most rejections clear quickly once the underlying error is fixed.
The usual causes
- Student not eligible: benefits exhausted, past the delimiting date, no application on file yet, or a mistyped VA file number.
- Invalid training time: the calculation does not match the credits, often because the wrong full-time standard was used for a graduate student.
- Overlapping dates: another certification already covers the same period. Find it and amend or end it first.
- Program not approved: the program is not listed for your school in WEAMS. Work with your SAA before certifying.
In my office, every rejection gets a one-line note in our tracking log: what failed and why. After a few terms, the pattern tells you exactly which step of your intake process needs tightening.
