Certifications & Enrollment Manager

How do I amend a certification?

Amend in Enrollment Manager as soon as enrollment changes. Certifications cannot be deleted, so an amendment is how every correction happens.

Open the original certification in Enrollment Manager, choose to amend it, update what changed (dates, credits, or training time), add a clear remark, and submit. Do it the day you learn about the change. Certifications cannot be deleted, so if something was certified in error, you amend it, including down to zero when a student never attended.

  1. Confirm the change with an official source such as the registrar record, a withdrawal form, or an attendance report.
  2. Find the original certification in Enrollment Manager and start the amendment.
  3. Enter the new credit hours and training time, and the effective date of the change.
  4. For withdrawals, use the last date of attendance. For a student who never attended, set training time to zero.
  5. Write a remark that explains what changed and why, in plain language a reviewer will understand later.
  6. Submit, then tell the student how the change affects their payments.

The 30-day reporting window is the outer limit, not the goal. When I train new SCOs, I tell them a late amendment rarely saves the student anything. It just lets more benefit pay out that the VA will later collect back.
